Finished up the book today. I really had to pace myself. Quick read. I was trying not to buzz through too fast. Too deep to to do that! I really enjoyed the ideas and websites listed at the end of each section and at the conclusion of the book. Made you think about how the information that we read in the text might be used in our own lives. It certainly seems overwhelming, but, as the authors wrote, if each of us just does SOMETHING….. When you read the story of girls like Yoshi, though, you see how God can work through even the darkest of circumstances. May these girls’ stories continue to touch your lives for a long time to come!

I am having a bit of trouble picking the book back up. I read through the first 2/3 of the book and was so heart sickened that to start reading again feels like punishment. The indifference to human suffering is staggering. The thought that people REALLY do those things to their children is incomprehensible. I know the stories in the book are either true or represents a person who did go through equal suffering. But HOW can a person traffic children? How can the world sit by and allow this to happen? Can’t INTERPOL get involved? I have no answers – only great sorrow that there are people to whom this behavior is acceptable.

I agree with Jeannene that this is a really hard book to read. I would only read a few pages at a time because it made me so mad that anyone could be treated like this. I doubt any government agency can fix the problem since so many are in countries were politicans are bought out. It really is a problem that all of us need to help with. From sone of my reading SERRV seems to help some of these women as they sell their products through SERRV – so if we buy their products for Christmas, Birthday, Mother’s Day, etc gifts that will be a start. Also when we finish our books – don’t let them just sit on a shelf – share them with someone. Everyone that reads this book may make a difference. Also maybe Pastor Rick will let us do quarters one week and send it to one of the places mentioned in the book.
